WIZARD Navigator instruments with working part taper ratios of 4%, 5%, 6% and 7% are intended for the machine-assisted preparation of root canals. The nickel-titanium alloy used to make the instruments guarantees their high flexibility. The instrument’s tip is inactive to reduce the risk of perforating the root canal.

Instructions for use:

1. Probing and the primary penetration into the root canal is carried out with the handheld ISO 006–010 size W-File according to the estimated width of the root canal to be treated. Next step after penetratingthe root canal is expanding. 2. Prepare the root canal using the W-1 instrument (purple stripe) and vertical filing movements, applying a slight apical pressure, 1/2 up to 3/4 of the length depending on the root canal’s configuration. The entire preparationis carried out using a lubricant and should not last longer than 10 s. The W-1 instrument is placed in the cleaning box and the root canal rinsed thoroughly with the solution. 3. As with the W-1 instrument, use the W-2 instrument (white stripe) to prepare the same length with a slight pressure. Place the W-2 instrument into the cleaning box and rinse thoroughly. 4. Penetrate a safe length into the root canal using the W-1 instrument (purple stripe). Rinse and penetrate the same length with theW-2 instrument (white stripe). 5. Repeat the whole procedure until a safe length of the root canal is attained. The preparation is completed using the W-2 instrument. If necessary, the entrance to the root canal can be widened or moved using theW-XN instrument. 6. Measure the working length of the root canal (X-Ray, Apexlocator). Rinse thoroughly and using a lubricant and theW-2 instrument prepare the set working length. 7. Place the W-3 instrument (yellow stripe) on the end and, using a lubricant, prepare the entire length of the root canal. Place the instrument in the cleaning box and rinse thoroughly. 8. If the root canal’s configuration requires, it can be filled using your preferred method. 9. For the majority of root canals the W-4 instrument (red stripe) is used to further expand the apical width to 025, or theW-25 (blue strip) is used to expand it to a width of 030. 10.The canal prepared in this manner is now filled. 11. If more massive working is required theW-5 instrument (blue stripe) can be used to continue to an apical width of 030, then the W-6 instrument (green stripe) can be used to a width of 035 with a 6 % taper orW-7 (black stripe) to a width of 040 with a 6 % taper. For less weakening of the root canal walls it is also possible to use the W-8 instrument (green stripe) to a width of 035 and the W-9 (black stripe) to a width of 040 with a 4 % taper. 12.We recommend using MEDIN brand accessories for the WIZARD Navigatorendo system only.
