Course Objectives
• Gain a clear understanding of Occlusion Terminology:
Maximum intercuspation, Centric Relation, Long Centric, Initial Point of Contact, Slide in Centric.
Anterior Guidance: Incisal, Canine and Group Function
• Learn to diagnose occlusal problems and to ask key questions related to Occlusion in the Dental History form and how to interpret the answers.
• Learn to detect the initial point of contact .
• Learn TMJ normal anatomy and disorders and how to manage them.
• Learn when shall you use Splint therapy and how to fabricate them.
• Learn how to manage a bruxer patient.
• You will work with your fellow participants to take facebow records.
• Know the Treatment plan flow Chart of SBD/TMD Cases: step by step.
About the instructors:
Dr. Reda A. Abdel-Fattah
Dr. Reda A. Abdel-Fattah is a diplomate of the American Boards of Dental Sleep Medicine, Craniofacial Dental Sleep Medicine, Craniofacial Pain and Orofacial Pain. He is the current President of the American Board of Craniofacial Pain. He lectures to local, national and international health professionals. He is an author of many scientific articles and books. He is a board examiner for the American Board for Craniofacial Pain and the Chairman of the Craniofacial Pain and Dysfunctions section at the Atlantic Coast Dental Research Clinic at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth, Florida. His practice stresses the evaluation and management of Orofacial Pain, TMD, and Sleep-Disordered Breathing.
Dr. Samuel T. Armanious
Since Dr. Samuel has received his BDS. Degree in 2012 from Cairo University, he focused on management of complex cases. He is a M.Sc. Candidate in Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders, Siena University, Italy. He is a member of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP).He lectures to local and national Dental professionals in orofacial pain, temporomandibular joint disorders, and dental occlusion.
